My Bio

My name is Gwen Golonka and I am thankful to work for San Tan this year as the Elementary Admin Assistant. I was a parent before I was hired as staff.  I remember coming home, thinking that this school was ‘too good to be true’, after my 3^rd oldest daughter and I met Dr. Sippel and his team for the first time.  I remember explaining to my husband that this school will be where all our girls will attend and graduate.  From that moment, we choose San Tan. 

This is my first year working here at San Tan in this role but, I spent 4 years at a Montessori school in a similar position where my daughter, Clara attended.  I became a Lead Toddler teacher before that in a different school for a few years and co-operated a home-based preschool for 3 to 5 year olds for 3 years.

I hold a degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Fine Art from ASU West and an Associates from Mesa Community College. I am a mom of 6 girls from 22 to 7 years of age and married to the same wonderful man.  I am from Ohio, but later moved to Arizona, with my mom, dad and 2 siblings.  I grew up in the city of Mesa, where I attended both junior high and high school there.

When I am not at San Tan, I enjoy spending as much time outside playing volleyball, bike riding, walking and exploring new places.  I enjoy traveling, cooking, baking and entertaining in my home.  I love going on dates with my husband of 22+ years of marriage, he’s the ‘dreamiest’!  When I am not working I am either going outside and walking or in my pantry gathering ingredients to prepare the next meal at the Golonka house!
